20 Questions – February Edition

Hey everyone!

Today I thought I’d do a sort of book edition of 20 Questions. It’s loosely based off the February Book Challenge by @celinereads and @seth.the.reader on Instagram, whereby bookstagrammers can post a picture each day based off the corresponding prompt. However I thought that with a little bit of work, I could change it into a blog post! So I bring to you:

20 Questions – February Edition!

It’d be cool to make this a monthly thing on my blog – so if you like it, I’d love to know!

Without further ado, let’s begin!

📖

1. February TBR?

So many books! Realistically though, we’re about halfway into February and I’m in my last year of high school, so I’ll be lucky if I even get to read three books in the rest of this month. I’m thinking of reading Moth Girls by Anne Cassidy, How Not to Disappear by Clare Furniss and Passenger by Alexandra Bracken. Keep an eye on my other blog, Written Word Worlds, to see the reviews when I post them!

2. Pink books?

3. Books you want to reread this year?

I always say that I want to reread books, but I never get the time to do it! It’s always like, go go go for me. Reading new books. Receiving ARCs (not that I’m complaining about that point). Reviewing books. Blogging about books. That sort of stuff. But if there’s one book I’d love to reread sometime soon, it’s Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. OH, THE FEELS.

4. Book boyfriend / girlfriend?

It’s always so hard to decide and I tend to change my mind with every book I read, but I think it’s fairly safe to say Will from The Internal Devices by Cassandra Clare. Dark, mysterious and brooding guys are my favourite types of book boys.

5. Currently reading?

I literally just finished reading Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz and I’m about to start reading Moth Girls by Anne Cassidy. Keep an eye on my book reviewing site, Written Word Worlds, for the book reviews!

6. Favourite romance novel?

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. Simon and Baz are honestly the cutest couple 😍

7. Over 600 pages?

I’m actually surprised I don’t have more books over 600 pages! All the thick books on my shelf are still under 600 pages. I did have two, however:

  • City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare
  • The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

8. One book that broke your heart?

Oh my God, how do I just pick one?! If I’m emotionally-invested in a book, it has a 99% chance of breaking my heart. Of course we have the obvious heart-breaking books, like The Fault in Our Stars by John Green and Allegiant by Veronica Roth, but some of the less obvious ones that I recommend a tissue box for are:

  • The Program by Suzanne Young
  • Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare
  • Champion by Marie Lu
  • My Heart and Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga
  • All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

9. Red books?

10. Favourite OTP?

Alec and Magnus from The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare. They are so adorable.

11. Book that’s made you most happy?

Again, just choosing one book for this category is so hard! I’ve been reading a lot of contemporaries at the moment and they usually make me really happy. But I’m going to have to go with my go-to book if I need to have a laugh – and that’s Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. Rainbow’s been getting a lot of praise in this blog post, but she honestly deserves it. Her books are utterly amazing and I hope she releases a new one soon!

12. Cutest cover?

The ‘Cutest Cover Award’ would have to go to My True Love Gave to Me by Stephanie Perkins and a whole bunch of other amazing authors. Just look how sweet those illustrations of the characters are! And I’m so excited for the next one, Summer Days and Summer Nights, which is basically the same as My True Love Gave to Me but ‘summer’ themed and of course, with different short stories. AND it comes out on June 14th (apparently)! Squeal!

13. Favourite book read so far this year?

Beautiful Broken Things by Sara Barnard. Check out my review here 😇

14. Most romantic cover?

Y’all, The Starbound Trilogy has the most romantic covers ever. End of story. I mean, just look at them…

15. Favourite book quote?

“You’re like a gray sky. You’re beautiful, even though you don’t want to be.”
Jasmine Warga, My Heart and Other Black Holes

16. Favourite series?

This is another really hard question! I feel like choosing between my books is like choosing between my metaphorical children. I might secretly hate one of them, but I wouldn’t tell the world for fear of judgement. Wait. No, that’s not right, is it?

*whispers*

The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare.

17. Longest title?

Me Being Me is Exactly as Insane As You Being You by Todd Hasak-Lowy. It’s not as interesting as the title would suggest.

18. Books with flowers on the cover?

19. Most creative title?

Simon Vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. Great title. Even better book.
No seriously, read it.

20. Book haul (so far) from February?

I’m actually surprised by how much I managed to restrain myself this month! I guess I didn’t work at my bookshop a lot because I’ve been back at school, so maybe that’s why. I swear, every time I work there I end up spending around $200. Every. Single. Time.

No wonder I’m broke 😅

Books from this month:

  • Passenger by Alexandra Bracken
  • Moth Girls by Anne Cassidy
  • How Not to Disappear by Clare Furniss
  • My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick
  • The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey

📖

Well, I hope you enjoyed this little book Q&A-type thing. If you did, I’d love to know so that maybe I could make this a monthly thing! I’d love to know some of your answers to these questions too! What’s on your TBR at the moment? Have you bought many books this month? Who’s your book crush? I’d love to hear from y’all!

Also, make sure you check out my bookstagram account, @written_word_worlds, for more bookish photos!

  1. Definitely love it! Any list or questions about books are awesome. I’m currently reading Alice in Wonderland and next on my list is Lord of the Flies.

  2. Wait. WAIT. I will just cut out that line where you said MY hubby was your boyfriend. He would never cheat on me! (Also I totally ship Malec – it’s half the reason I’m constantly on Tumblr)
